Springtime in the Backyard

I am very excited about long, warm, lazy evenings sitting outside in the coming months. However, in order to entertain properly, I will need a fabulous backyard.

Here is how I envision my summer of 2012 backyard:

First off, a table:

Mendocino Dining Table, Crate & Barrel

With chairs:

But, I would make the seat cushions with this fabric:

A New Twist (in Seaweed), Tonic Living

Of course you need an umbrella, the larger the better:

Round umbrella, Pottery Barn

For some relaxed seating, let’s try this stylish option:

Dune sofa, Crate & Barrel

With this fabric as the seat and back cushions:

Grass Green Boulevard, Tonic Living

to use for both storage and as coffe tables or side tables, I love these cubes:

Alfred Sung Outdoor

To add some mood lighting, what about these lanterns in their variety of colours:

Casablanca Lantern

To avoid splinters in my feet, I’d use this outdoor rug:

Martha Stewart, Home Depot

Who couldn’t use a small drinks station in their backyard entertaining?

Pillows for the sofa:

West Elm

And, since Toronto backyards tend to have little space for a lot of greenery, here is a way to inject some plants in to the backyard decor:
